This month I seem to be most unorganised. Which is most unlike me!
I actually did the SCRAP THE BOYS challenge ages ago & thought I'd
uploaded it. Apparently not!!!
So, here's the inspiration photo:
Pretty cool eh? [gotta love a pun!].
Of course, living by the water & having the boys on Fridays, I tend
to have a few beach photos.
My take:
The background was a mis-mash of bits added that I had left over when I made
other LOs.....added a bit of yellow & blue spray to work with the inspiration 'et voila!'
Because the bg is so busy, I tried [Oh! How I TRIED!] to keep the embellies
& other bits simple...
Above, I've fussied up the cork arrow I die cut with some gold heat embossing.
I got some older [on sale] Studio Calico kits, and the 'love' word from it,
I've added to the white space of the photo....a Funky Flair Studio flair
& the 'that's rad' is old, old Pink Paislee, I think.
The little sandcastle image is from my scrappy mate Jo R....perfect for this page.
And the yellow 'currently' tab is from Flutterby Designs.
The Grand Boys are growing soooo quickly, & time is passing in a
blur.... I'm glad I have these photos to 'make memories' :)
Thanks for looking..... y'know, I STILL feel like I've actually blogged this page.
Aaaaggghhhh! WHO KNOWS!

BECCA'S BIRTHDAY BASH... & bits'n'pieces:

Good day one & all. Well, BECCA C [fabulous crafty mate] has turned 30.
And to celebrate she's GIVING [which is what she's like] stuff away!
To join in, you just need to use her mood board [which is SOOO Becca!!!].
Here's the card she made:
Cool, huh?
I REALLY like the brights & the swirls on the moodboard.
I thought I'd do a bit of wax crayon resist with Gelatos over top.
Swirl the crayon around. Get a bit of a pattern going.
Used watercolour paper. Big mistake. My swirls were 'naive' in the extreme.
It looked disgusting. Well, except for the colours.
 WHAT TO DO?????
Obv a crappy card bg. It looked like a drunk snail. Not the best birthday look!
Here's how my mind works. Snail.......garden......flower......ROUND!
Accordion bloom [thanks Mitra who had one up recently!!]
Ahhh HAH!
THEN my mind went.
Drunk...... booze........fair........flags fluttering in the breeze. YEEEEES!
So out came the Big Shot & this is my card:
Based on the mood board, originally, with input from the Drunken Snail.
No reflection on Becca there, who I'm sure was the height of decorum as she
celebrated being 30.
Either ways, HAPPY BIRTHDAY & thanks for being the lovely, sharing person you are:)
Oh.The card, yeah.......

CREATIVE SCRAPPERS #296: An Ode to a Fellow Scrapper.

Well, not really. But a funny thing happened. My scrappy mate, Anna U
popped up this LO just a day or so after I took a photo with a similar theme:
So, I sent her my photo. She sent me hers & I've used the CREATIVE SCRAPPERS sketch:
Originally I thought of using washi tape for those strips, but I went with Gelatos,
blended & made more subtle with a coat of white gesso.
And of course, I've used my journaling to reinforce this idea from the sketch:
This is also an 'ode' to Anna's more subtle style. Although, I must say, that cup of coffee
she has is NOT exactly 'subtle'!!!!
I enjoyed doing this journaling! It's one of my fave things:)
Some closies:
Some close ups of my clusters. Below is a Funky Flair Studio flair.
Some Kaiser Craft owls & a Cocoa Vanilla sticker below:
And one last closie of the top corner:
OWL leave you with that! Oh! That's a touch of vellum behind the photos.
And of course, I've stitched through the title. I'm sure Anna will approve of that!!

Scrap the Girls ~ July 2016

SCRAP THE GIRLS has got a really interesting sketch this month:
And I thought I'd challenge myself to stick FIRMLY to it.
Like, JUST use the sketch...... I sort of mostly succeeded. Some extra bits needed popping on 'cos I smudged the Gelato circles [the only bad thing about using them - they take a while to dry!]....but anyways, what do you think? Did I succeed?
That bottom strip is wider for that reason too. Gosh, I'm a MESSY  scrapper. Just not patient enough to let things dry..... oh well!
Yes, I coloured those little stars [I use that term loosely. No patience for 'real' colouring, either!]. And the Funky Flair Studio photo bomb flair is there for a reason. See below for a closer look!

Love pinching Chloe's photos from her UK adventures - she's been working there for almost 3 years now. Amazing, lucky girl!
The 'awesome' is from Corbett Creations, an Aussie wood/acrylic company. I coloured it with the black Gelato then used Glossy Accents. And waited ALL NIGHT for it to dry! Not literally - I mean, I did go to bed, giggles!
Happy Scrapping, now ~ Lizzy ♥♥♥
PS: There are 2 more photos behind the top one. I made a little 'book' up so they were all together! Forgot to photograph that;)

Oh! As soon as I saw these pink / red flair, I just KNEW I had to use them for
a LO starring Ollie BOY!!!!
I know, I know....blue is more traditional. BUT.....
he was playing with that pink kitchen....
& so, my FUNKY FLAIR STUDIO flair came out to play!
Oh YES! I am so enjoying being part of the team.
I love that the flairs are plastic backed, so
don't rust like lots of other flair.
Also adore the clear stickers that are for sale. I've stuck the 'heart you', above,
on the flair to personalise it. Works a treat eh?
Bit hard to photograph though, cos of that lovely silver shimmer!
I've used another one above [it's a boy thing], popping it onto some white card stock
1st to give it some strength.
And again, the 'too cute for words'. That flair worked perfectly there, too.
The wood title has been heat embossed.....
And my final FUNKY FLAIR STUDIO flair worked so well with this photo.
Ollie has a real sense of humour for a little fella!
Hope this LO gave you a giggle.....thanks for looking!

Scrap it with a Song Challenge - July 2016

This month, SCRAP IT WITH A SONG have, a pop song that goes with children and the sea.
And I have this VERY old photo from 1998 that I've been wanting to scrap:
Just did a little bit of journaling [giggles!!!!]....
This LO is totally 'different' for me. But I think it goes well with the photo.
I've put photos of my journaling at the end of this post, for those who love a 'story'!
A mix of elements.... the flair is Cocoa Vanilly.....
...and this one is Funky Flair Studios...
These are older Basic Grey papers.....
And the journaling:

I rather enjoyed just scrapping with bits and bobs, not Mixed Media, for a  change.
And of course, it was fun remembering back all these years ago!
Cheers for now ~ Lizzy ♥♥♥

1,2,3 Challenge for July:

Oh YES! Look at this GORGEOUS challenge for 1,2,3, this month:
And this is what I created:
Think all 3 elments are fairly obvious. And isn't this a corker of a picture?
Sometimes collages work best, I find!
I used a flair from the Reject Shop [blue camera] & the 'Capture' foil one is from Funky Flair Studios. Love those elephants.....so CUUUTE. Almost as cute as Holly and Wilbur!!!
All the glittery hearts and arrow have been made by me. I made my own glitter paper first!

A few little word phrases popped around.....

Yup! I've been 'at it' with a couple of Chrissy cards. TRYING to get ahead!
[I was thrilled to be featured in last month's challenge!]:

PERFECT for a Christmas card, I must say, winks!
Had a bit of ribbon lying on the desk. So thought I'd heat emboss it with some sparkling powder.
Who KNEW you could do that. I didn't - but it worked a treat!
And since I had my heat gun out, I heat embossed in blue the tree, then overstamped [a bit dodgy]
the grey Stazon....then added that ribbon. Thought of Becca Cruger, doing my Distress ink sponged bg!
Soooo hard to catch that glimmer shimmery sparkly look that this card gives out:

You need to be inspired by the colours & Christmas. Oh! How NEAT an idea, LOL!!!!
I've used a Rubber Dance Stamps bg stamp, then heat embossed my stars & attached with star brads  Now I've got my MISTI, I feel confident stamping straight onto my cards. Really, you can't make a mistake. Best tool I've EVER got. Expensive, but I use it all the time. So it's paying for itself quickly!!!
Close up - trying to get that shimmer again!!
Do you see it? SPARKLICIOUS I reckon!
Anyways, enough rattling on.....that's it from me for today
Bye for now ~ Lizzy ♥♥♥
