Show Us Your Stuff - June 2016

Hi there!
Not writing much cos my computer is at the docs & I'm scheduling this post on my iPhone. Well, attempting to! Here's my entry for the SHOW US YOUR STUFF
And my page...a few little round & word stickers scattered around the page:
I had the bg made from leftover ink on a star stencil.
Went to town with the rub ons.
Didn't worry if they weren't perfect!
My hand made embellie is the bow. Plus there is the flair above.
And you can see 2 of the 3 brads I've used. Sooooo good to use them up!!
I've written on the photo collage below:
And used a Flutterby Designs tab here:
So, there you have it!
Thanks for looking.....
And the End of the Month is nigh.
How SCARY is that??!!!!

Sketch-N-Scrap Card & Jot Magazine June 2016 Challenges :

Hey there! Another Christmas card done 'cos the challenge over at SKETCH-N-SCRAP
suited one to a tee;)
And here's my entry:
I have a MISTI - makes stamping the sentiment like this super easy! AND
I used my star punch. Haven't used it much, so I was pleased to get it out:)

June 2016 - Lauren copy
This really, really attracted me. I had it down to do - with an asterix!
Then I came across Chantelle H's entry.

And that inspired me even more. So - done!
Neri sent me this cute photo, with the story:
I wanted to stay a bit CAS after seeing the other LOs. Let the colours
do the speaking, sort of.
That little 'photo' word is off some Typo packaging. And so are the
numbers below! I do like to recycle when I can!
The typewriter is a Simple Stories sticker, then I've added
a tiny word to it, giggles!!!
It's not the best photo....but it is SO cute! And lots
of 'white space' to pop my title on the photo.
A Pink Paislee frame. With a few more bits tucked in...
The story - & some Studio Fourteen 40 words down the bottom.
Thanks for taking a peek at these.
I'm enjoying  getting back into challenges.....
Blessings ~ Lizzy xo

OFF THE RAILS TUTORIAL - Ollie's Baby Book - the 1st Twelve Months:

Hi there! I've something a little different to share with you today over at OFF THE RAILS.

It's a very short video about a small book I created to celebrate my Grand Boy's first
12 months.

It's a fabulous way of celebrating the changes that happen & also for stash busting!

I hope you get some ideas and some inspiration to do something like this yourself...

THE MIXED MEDIA CHARD Challenge ~ June 2016:

Now, this one took a few twists and turns. Once again, I 'had' to make a Christmas
card [my challenge to myself! All cards MUST be Chrissy cards for a while to build
up the stash!].... but check out the MIXED MEDIA CARD challenge:
LOL! Would YOU attempt a Christmas card?
Luckily, you can use the COLOURS....which I've done.
But I also found some digi prints [no idea where I got them from!],
which were ROUND [sun shaped...!!!] & off I went with my Gelatos again.
So, gessoed the bauble so I could pop some gelatos on. Then heat embossed the gold.
Then used a paint pen by Sharpie to go over the 'Joy'. Then added a Bro cut 'Christmas'.
THEN made the bg paper with 2 different stencils and yellow/orange ink pads and a sponge
through the mask. THEN added some Heidi Swapp color shine in gold & FINALLY
added some glitter glue to the 'O' in Joy & some splashes of Glimmer Glaze.
THEN I did it all again with this card:
And the shine that is so hard to capture on camera:
So, there you have it. I DID IT!!!!
Thanks for looking ~ Lizzy ♥♥♥

RUBBER DANCE STAMPS Challenge June 2016... & Baby News!

I'm THERE. I AM! I have made some Christmas cards. I've made a pact with
myself that any card challenge I enter MUST be to create Chrissy cards. So
I can get back on track. Last time I made any was January. EEK!

I didn't 'push' it & try to use flowers! And this was really experimental.
I wanted to use one of my Rubber Dance Stamps, & found a bg one I thought
would work for Christmas. [link to it is HERE].
First, I heat embossed it onto cardstock, then attempted to blend Gelatos in.
Really didn't work. So, I tried again, this time blending the Gelatos into
the card stock first THEN heat embossing the stamp over the top. BINGO!
This is my card:
It shimmers beautifully:
Yummy! The saying I created with my Bro [Scan'n'Cut :)]
Anyways, then I was looking at my other sheet of [crappy] embossing....& a few of the
off cuts from this card...which I cut down further & VOILA! Another card basically
created itself!!
I was chuffed with this one, too:)
So there you have it. I've done a Darnell 'two-fer', increased my Chrissy stash to 6 &
used up my scraps!

As for the Baby News - #3 has ARRIVED!!
His name is Ashton Ross Knight, weighed in at 7lb 1oz
& is just beautiful. Here he is with Mum & Dad
& me ["Ma"] just 6 hours after he was born.
Here's the whole family together. They're going to be busy!!!

Thanks for looking ~ blessings! Lizzy ♥♥♥

CSI - Major Case #202 for June 2016. And some more UK photos...

Goooood day, my friends!
I haven't joined in with CSI for a good long time. I keep LOOKING.....but....
then this Monthly Case File popped up:
Hmmmn. Buildings. CASTLES, maybe? Our holiday. Perfect fit!
PLUS, I was majorly inspired by HELEN WALLACE & LIZZY CRUST.
I'm gonna share their LOs here, cos they're sooo beautiful in such different
Helen's.....CAS, just the way I LOOOVE it!
Look at how Lizzy has combined those colours...& the frames!
So, this is what I came up with, based on the sketch.
And a couple of closies:
And just one of the journaling:
Used all the colours, the triangles, enamel drops & white background
from the 'Evidence' & of course, my 'Testimony' is
about a building!

I thought I'd take you through our journey of discovering this amazing
In the train on our way to BOGNOR REGIS [a seaside resort we thought
would be interesting to visit], we saw a MASSIVE castle out the window as the
train stopped at a tiny station called 'ARUNDEL'. So, I googled it as we
continued to BOGNOR.....which turned out closed up, hunkered down, with
little open and a cold pebble beach.....sooooo we hopped back on the train to
Walked the 1/2 mile into the VILLAGE & found a nice pub [St Mary's] to eat
lunch at:
Now, I'm sure some of you peeps will laugh at me taking
a photo of wood. But for us it was AMAZING!
[Please note heart banner over mantle piece, scrappers!!!]
The food was GOOOOOOOD!
Then we wandered around trying to find the castle entry.
It was soooo big, it filled the horizon.
Was this it?
Nah! Just the entrance to the local C of E church. Nice one &
interesting, though.....
Rather large walls to scale!! Loved the tulips:)
Explored the 'keep' where the Lord could survey
all that was his [probably still is!] & check out attacking marauders!
Shame the moat is now empty! That'd keep us
pesky [but well paying!] tourists out. No crocodiles here Mitra ;)
Then inside the Castle:
No photos allowed, as they DO live here...at times!
This is their PRIVATE CHAPEL inside the castle.
Nice little spot to pray!
Then, of course, there is also the OUTSIDE chapel:
I swung around the other way:
It's a decent walk from the castle!
And finally, my favest shots:
Thank you for a MAGICAL, unexpectedly amazing day, Arundel...
Byeeeee ~ Lizzy ♥♥♥

G'day there! Bit of a 'photo heavy'  post. Our OFF THE RAILS challenge for JUNE is:
Plenty of scope to let your imagination run wild, eh?
I was reorganising my study, & needed a box for a bunch of papers....
& thus, this project was born!
Original box:
Obviously needed a total makeover!!!
SOOOOOO: a coat of gesso, some paint, some PVA glue [works like a gel medium or clear
gesso - sort of seals your paint!].....
& while the glue was wet, I added some lace:
Then with a hot glue gun, some metal elements:
NOW we're talking, right? Prettier already. More gesso over these elements. Then ink sprays, some
stenciling, some stamping & some Mica glitter......
Almost there, Just needed a few finishing touches - sequins, seed beads, some flair-like
elements & a decent coat of Mod Podge [gloss]. FINALLY:
Dunno how that rust developed....but I liked it! The beads/heart have been 'set' with Glossy Accents.
Can you see the little silvery heart above the key? Love how it all blends into the blue tones!

Above is some patterned paper that I've punched out then covered with one of those acrylic
sticky rounds. Sort of 'fake flair'. Works a treat!
A close up of the stenciling around the edges & below,
 the full box:
So....got you inspired to get out some lace, metal & an old box?
Or to join in with our OFF THE RAILS challenge?
 I hope so!
Blessings ~ Lizzy H ♥♥♥
