Challenge YOUrself - May 2015

Here's the sketch for the current challenge YOUrself competition:
Well, I was looking through photos of me & realised I had an ... ummm...
'eclectic mix' from each of my decades spanning 20s - 50s.
FOUR photos.....so, that's where I went.
Feeling PLEASED these are scrapped.
With all that journaling [on vellum, then stitched to my page], I had to play with the sketch!
I had a BALL with the circle element.
It started as stitching, added some blue Gelato,  then some pencil circles
then some glitter glue. YUM!!
Sort of got carried away with quite a few [understatement] glittery elements:
Oh, Dusty Attic words.... how I LOOOOVE thee!!
And below, a wooden gal [since it's all about MOI!] from Sandra S.
And LOTS of different washi tapes....and glittery alphas.....
and another Dusty Attic word...
My! I WAS SOOOO young.....
And in all its colourful, glitzy glory.....well...those photos...it was either go plain or OTT.
Which, in my case, means there's really no choice.
Unless I'm having a madly restrained moment.
Oh! Before I show you it all, I DID add some flair/buttons:
Now, I know the top flair [from A Flair for Buttons] has a bit of rust.
But it all adds character. Bit like my lines and grey hairs!
HOWEVER, I must say, this is why I really like FUNKY FLAIRS, as they have
PLASTIC BACKS & I don't seem to get this problem at all!
Top left there's also an Evalicious flair, too......
Thanks so much for taking the time to check this LO out....& if you haven't
joined in with CHALLENGE YOURSELF...then you should!
Think, just think - how many of your pages feature YOU????
Blessings ~ Lizzy ♥♥♥

Hullo there my scrappy friends! Today I've gone a bit overboard with the Mixed Media!
I forgot to take step by step photos. And honestly. This has so many layers it would have been impossible to document!
However, the top layers involve lots of lush Dusty Attic products [which you can buy online HERE!]
On the background, you can see some plasterer's tape, some microbeads & sequins amongst other things.
The paints I've used include OCEANIA, CASHMERE and SUNSHINE
Below you can see some gessoed up flower clusters from the DUSTY IN BLOOM GRASSY KNOLL pack
On the left, below, is a lovely ELEGANT SWIRL chippy.
On the right are some gorgeous DUSTY IN BLOOM BRIDAL VEIL flowers.
I've splattered them with a bit of Dylusions ink.
The little flowers with the pink edge are from the DUSTY IN BLOOM EVENING BLUSH pack
in the bg there are some cute little blooms & lots of different texture paste stuff sent
from the gorgeous Yvonne Y!
And here is my full canvas:
I don't often do this sort of scrapping, and really had such FUN piling on practically anything I could lay my hands on!
The Dusty Attic flowers really worked their magic for me, I reckon!
Happy scrapping ~ Lizzy ♥♥♥

Deer & Fawn, Tim's Tags & Sketch'n'Scrap Challenges for MAY 2015

It's almost the end of the month. I've managed to squeeze in the DEER & FAWN challenge:
Create 2 Project life cards on a project.....you can make them however you like....you could stamp, paint, spritz, whatever takes your fancy.  I would love to see them in your project life spreads, but for  those who aren't into project life, don't think this challenge isn't for you.... project life cards are awesome to use on scrap layouts too!!
Well, since Life Zesters has closed down [insert sad face]
I thought I'd use the cards I made for some FEB PL:
I actually created a third card, in the middle with the date!
But the 2 for the challenge are below:
I stamped with a few different stamps. My fave bit is the hearts.
They are a handcrafted stamp from my scrappy mate Sanna!
The stars have been coloured with my Pitt Artists Big Brush white pen.
The big triangle stamp is from Typo.  A birthday pressie:)
I also joined in with TIM'S TAG challenge:
12 Tags of 2015 - May | www.timholtz.com
As usual, I didn't have all the same bits that Tim has. But I did the best with what I had!
I really had fun with this one, I must say!
And of course, it ended up on a card:
And lastly, Marie-Christine has a challenge up as a DT member over at SKETCH'N'SCRAP.
It's their birthday month!!!
So, her challenge was to use the colours and sketch below:

 And here is my card:
The yellow button was white with black spots....Dylusions ink worked a treat to make it yellow!
So, that is all for me.
Thanks for looking & as always,
Happy Scrapping ~ Lizzy ♥♥♥

Hullo there!
This is my last post as a Guest for FLUNKY FLAIRS STUDIO.

I got some gorgeous sea-inspired flair, so decided to use them on this page.
It's my son and grandson on the waterfront near our house.
Tim found a worm in the sand.
Lucas was absolutely intrigued and insisted on taking it home in a screw top jar!!!
I'm sure his parents were thrilled. Not.
The title is actually a rub on! I drew a circle with a pen then stitched randomly over it.
Can't have a seaside page without a Dusty Attic seagull. Painted with nail polish!
Even the post he's standing on is a combination of 2 nail polishes!!!
 And that flair. Oh, PERFECTION!!!!
A few drips and sprays of some Dylusion ink spray. A little natural wood elements... washi....
 Et voila!
Aren't my boys the cutest??? You don't need to answer. To me, they are!!!
So, there you have it. FUNKY FLAIRS STUDIO have lovely flair.
Well made and wide ranging!
I am ever so grateful for EVE RAE for inviting me for the month!
Hope this inspires you to use YOUR flair!

Ode to Chantelle H...

...can you have an 'Ode' to an alive person? I HOPE so. Well, I am, so there!
You see, Chantelle H has a fun-tabulous blog where every now and then she
shares photos she has taken with her 50mm camera lense.
And she takes STUNNING shots. See HERE.
And I keep saying I'm going to take some too. And never get around with it.
Well, I finally did!
So, this is a non-scrappy post. Sozzy folks! Gotta break outta the mould occasionally!!!
Our azalea is flowering beautifully atm....
I can't believe the fixed lense can take photos like this!!!
My GF gave me a succulent for Chrissy. I HATE them.....but it's got a pretty flower;)
Now, camellias.....right up my alley. Love them!
Had a tidy up in my scrap room & re-sorted my flower storage....
Just a few leeks growing in Tom's little vegie patch!
The view from our verandah. With our new-old distressed table Tom made.
MY favest spot in the whole wide world!!!
And of course, Wally had to get in on the act! Wally loves the verandah too!!!
So, if you've got a Fixed 50mm lense.....I'd recommend giving it a work out.
You might be surprised like I was!
And thanks Chantelle for the inspiration:)

Scrap The Girls & Scrap It With A Song challenges ~ May 2015

The SCRAP THE GIRLS challenge for this month is a sketch, which I've turned like this:
I just got some new Dusty Attic chippies....so I had a BIG play with them!
The 'totally cute' circle below has been painted with a Faber Castell Big Artists ink pen.
Then I've used an epoxy clear sticky dot to cover it.
LOOOOVE how it turned out! THANK YOU Sandra S for sending me some!
I see that Sawyer's Place sells them, too...
And I think this is the Month of Gold for me!
I got a sheet of Bella! from Spotlight on sale and have been having fun cutting into it!
LOOOVE film reel thingies. Never had any. So pleased I bought them!
And a Sawyer's Place flair in the middle:)
Just like in the sketch, I've used a pile of layers behind and around my photo...
The very background is painted before I layered the plasterer's tape, washi, gold tape then
papers up. Oh! The white splots are writer's ink.
And below, some chippy 'fussied' up with white then gold glitter nail polish!
I'm in loooove with the hugs & kisses chippies, too....sweeeet;)
This was taken YEARS ago & I just came across it....step Great Grand Girl....lovely photo.
So happy to have scrapped it!!
Going from a Very Old Photo to a Very New One
Of Ollie!
has the pop song 'Bright Eyes'
to gain inspiration from this month.
And I went with that for my LO!
Once again I've used a Dusty Attic word pebble, colored in white then added an epoxy sticker round on top!
The other flair is A Piece of Cake Designs from a past challenge win:)
I've done lots and LOTS of background stamping.
That 'memories documented is Dusty Attic chippy. Coloured.
then I've used Gloss Varnish over the top
I was also lucky enough to win some Creative Embellishments stamps - so added them into the mix
The big heart was on the paper....added some wooden ones....
My Journaling:
I still love my Purple Pumpkin buttons.
Shame they've gone out of business!
And finally.
Old paper. But I'm REALLY TRYING to use it all up;)
The padlock is wood - thanks Dolly B! I fancied it up with
some Inka Gold  - from Time To Create - to match the gold doily:)
I had fun playing with the page design with this one.
I think it works OK:)
Thanks for taking a peek at these ~ Lizzy ♥♥♥

The Scrapbook Store challenges ~ MAY 2015

Today I decided to join in with
The Scrapbook Store
I took a bit of a loose interpretation as the photos I had sort of found their own place!

This is what I created:
I seem to have gotten on the gold & glitz bandwagon!
I made the flower. Yes. MADE and FLOWER in the same sentence.
Please don't die of shock;)
Below you can see I've backed off these lovely wooden word arrows wih gold glitter card!
And DOILIES Jo R!! You good influence, you;)

And the little embossed hearts? A HAND CRAFTED stamp from my scrappy mate
Sanna. THANK YOU my friend. LOOOVE it:)
Thanks for looking ~ happy scrapping ~ Lizzy ♥♥♥
