My Selfie Scrapbook. Attempting, anyways...

...you see, I thought I'd join in with this:
The #myselfiescrapbook project is a month-long class created by Jennifer Lake and Julie Gagen. Full of prompts, free file downloads, and inspiration from contributors, the class is about self-love and documenting you as part of your family's story. To join in making your own mini-album, check out all of the #myselfiescrapbook posts
It seemed 'doable', as it's only a month. And I'm often taking photos for Fat Mum Slim's Photo a Day challenge....so.....
I had made an album for the My Details course last year...
with 8 empty pages left at the end of the 8"x 8" book.
So, this is what I'm using.
Initially, I shoveled in to find some old papers....threw some ink at them & whacked down some photos that I'd printed at home on crappy photo paper.
You know how peeps say 'It shows love'. Or you haven't 'shown me the love'? Well, I finally 'got' that idea.
My pages had no love.
The photos showed love. But I was not a happy chappy with what I'd done.
So, most unlike me I ripped the photos off.
Salvaged some & sat down and LOVINGLY scrapped them!
I realised I needed room to write the story.
It, for me, drives the photos. And I got out some stamps.
And I kept it simple. Well, as simple as I'm capable of!
And I REALLY like the Kellie Winell prompt to take photos looking down.
So, of course, I used her stamp along the bottom of the page as well;)
Oh, the difference a bit of love makes!!!
If I'd been scrapping anyone else.....there's no way I would have been so off-hand.
There's a deep and meaningful in there, I'm sure!!!
I ended up doing 3 pages all together. I've room for the rest of the month still:
I guess 'cos we're all different, we will all have a slightly different take on the challenge.
I'm hoping I can finish it. I wish I was tech-savvy enough to use the digi elements that are free.
But I think if I can just do this with LOVE, that will be enough!!!!
Thanks for looking! And take a peek at the links if you're interested in this sort of thing:)

mood board:
I took the colours, which I ADORE [even the purple, these days!!!] & the idea of the stack/groupings:
Some butterflies, grid die cut & book paper from my scrappy mate, Lizzie C...
I had a birthday a couple of weeks ago, you see;)
The drips of blue are Glimmer Glaze; the deep orange, Adirondack ink spray.
They worked with this lovely MME ppr gifted to me by Ronda Palazzari.
The flair - arrows are Funky Flair Studio; the ampersand is from Badges Folies:
Thanks for the tag, too, Lizzie!!!
This girl's life really has changed dramatically & as you can read, in a fabulous way!
ADORE those metal Maggie Holmes triangles.....& the whole page:
I simply could NOT choose which photos I liked best. So THANK YOU Picassa for your Collage program.
I've still got one or two to scrap that I figured would make good single photo LOs, too:)
Ronda Palazzari
The card sketch:

This card came about cos of the generosity of my scrappy mates, Sanna & Sandra!
I LOVE those resin clear sticky dots that you can sorta create your own 'flair'.
Sandra sent me a packet & I could not WAIT to use them!
The little heart stamp, above, was HAND CARVED by Sanna.
I'm in  serious LOOOOOOOOOVE!!!!
I fussy cut the butterfly out of some PL cards she gave me!
I RARELY [never] fuss up the card insides....
...but Margy M does; thus inspired here!
Ant those butterflies were so cute...
more fussy cutting;)
Sanna also sent me the round lacy die cut with the string attached!
I added some script stamping and edge sponging to the papers
...thanks so much for putting up with me dribbling on!

CSI #161 sponsored by DUSTY ATTIC!

Hullo my friends! This month Dusty Attic are sponsoring the wonderful CSI challenges!
Today I'm showcasing the DUSTY ATTIC products I've used on my LO for Case File #161.
For the chippy, I used DUSTY ATTIC PAINTS in DENIM [this gave me the dark blue from the Case File].
On the background I've used the CASHMERE paint, & did the ombre effect by adding some ALABASTER paint....but it's a bit more subtle than I was aiming for!
I've only used tiny pops of  the other colours. But they are there!
My Evidence includes DA STARS, metal [butterflies, staples and fuse wire.Yes, you heard right!], & circles.
My circles are circle shaped, rather than actual circles. I'll show you.
Then it will make sense!
I've used the VINE FRAME #1, plus the 'waste' from them as well! Works a treat.
Waste not, want not & all that guff:)
And cos I'm a lazy scrapper [& proud of it!].
Sometimes I simply STAPLE my chippy into place. Like this:
So, a couple of closies - the metal butterflies were originally bronze coloured.
I've heat embossed them white to follow the colour scheme:
And lastly, a chippy title using part of the LIVE BEAUTIFULLY set:
I really LOVE the CSI Challenges! I hope if you haven't seen them before, you pop on over & give them a go:)
Thanks for looking & happy scrapping ~ Lizzy ♥♥♥

Hey there my scrappy friends. Today I've joined in with the SKETCH n SCRAP card challenge:
I'm on a catch-up-Chrissy-card drive, as you may have noticed. So, Easter sketch -> Christmas!!!
Used a Stampin' Up set that I have barely touched [wince!].
And it's such a nice one!
With sincere regrets re: the C thingy [NOT!!!] to Helen W & Val T !!!!!

Life Zesters & Rubber Dance Stamps Challenges - April 2015

A 'two fer one' on this post! First up is LIFE ZESTERS, the PL challenge. This month it's a sketch:
Since I was creating with portrait pockets for March, I turned the sketch once clockwise.
I didn't want a photo, but I found this card:
Along with the yellow spotty card I wanted for the background.
I punched out the circle, then also cut down the frame around it, for another pocket:
And this is what it looked like finished:
That's a Flutterby Designs flair. Perfect for what we did!
Below is what I did with that frame I cut out:
 And finished:
And my whole page:
Meanwhile, here's the RUBBER DANCE STAMPS challenge:
This month you can use TEXTURE with the colour board:
I've used an embossing folder, over my stamped paper, using a swirly Rubber Dance Stamp that I find I reach for all the time!
Plus lots of layers:
I even layered up the layers of petals!!!
And below, the 'cheats' way of attaching some stick pins;)
 And my whole card:
So there you have it!

THE CCC exchange:

I am really enjoying the CCC [International Card Chain Challenge] idea. Getting a card from someone you don't know & sending one somewhere 'out there' really tickles my fancy!
The March reveal & info on the exchange is HERE.
For March I used the sketch:
I used scrap paper on the diagonal for the bottom bit:
The 'For You' is a Silly cut, coated with Glimmer Glaze. A bit different!
I usually use it for 'splots', like the top of the card....but I quite like it brushed on like this for a change!!
I didn't show you my February card - I had done a whole post! So I'll add it in here, too.
Too much scrapping and not enough blogging days!!
I chose to use the sketch:
AND use some twine.
The feather is one I picked up outside our house. I really wanted to use it - comes from one of the wild ducks that live around abouts:)
I had a plain kraft button, so stamped it myself. Happy it didn't smudge. PHEW!!!

My whole card. Thanks Yvonne Y for the Black Lava stuff. Great for using with a stencil:)
See the background? It's actually old copy paper that I randomly had stamped off with my new 'discover' Rubber Dance Stamp...so I gessoed over it, then went to work creating more texture! Waste not, want not, right??!!!!
Speaking of waste not....my long time GF sent me a few bits & bobs [thanks Sue McB!!], so I gathered them together like a jigsaw puzzle, trying to arrange them into some sort of order:
Now, I had thought the floral stems look pretty neat, but once I got it on the pink bg I turned it over!
Used lots of little pieces to layer up the flower - addded some sequins & some Glimmer Glaze splots!
And close up:
This isn't for any challenge or any reason, other than I like to challenge myself to take stuff & make it into something!
Do you do that?
Thanks for taking the time to read & comment on my posts - I do appreciate it:)
Cheers, Lizzy ♥♥♥
