Challenge YOUrself - #3...& Supreme Scrap Tournament ROUND 3!!!

Hello there! The end of the month is nigh ~ where did it go? Sigh. Anyways, today I did a page about Someone I love, alongside a colour palette which were the requisites for this CHALLENGE YOURSELF challenge.
I've got a few more wedding pages to do...this one is of Me & my Mum....the photo was taken in the shade, which is a shame, but I think it looks OK. I actually cropped it as well, but I'm saving that one for another day:)
Slightly CAS....but I'd just finished a rather OTT one, so this was a sorta 'reaction', I think! Got the colours in & of course, one doesn't have to labour the mother-daughter love...it's just 'there', right?
Some closies:
Can you see the faint background stamping? I added that with my YUMMY new Kaisercraft stamp..& that wooden heart has been gessoed then nail polish glittered...the washi is from Meg's Garden..& I was glad I thought to add a couple of embroidered cross stitches...the 'Perfect Moment' stamp is a lovely new one from 3rd Eye...
I thought I'd use a bit of vellum on this sentiment to add some dimension...glittered up the jewel with nail polish, too...just as well YOU weren't in my scrap room, or you might've gotten glittered up too;) The hearts are masked with some crackle paste.
A layout without a badge? NOT POSSIBLE! This one fitted perfectly, as did those enamel dots & I've gotten my 'Glimmer Glaze' on, too:):)
I've 'fussied' up some washi....added some little Trinket Track pearl hearts [one of my FAVE embellies!]...& that's about it...that Studio Calico paper 'Snippets' has been THE most useful range I've ever had. But then I'm a bit of an SC fan....have you checked out Challenge YOUrself? They'll have a new challenge up soon....they're quite thoughtful & fun...hope you can join in:):)
Meanwhile, somehow [choke, shock] I seem to have stumbled my way through to the 3rd Card round of the SUPREME SCRAP TOURNAMENT.
This time around it's 'doodling'...no stamps, alphas....anyways, here's my entry:
Apart from the misted background, it's allll doodling by MOI!!!! Miracles can happen!!!
Thanks for looking ~ Lizzy ♥♥♥

I'm up over at Purple Pumpkin with some Project Life!

Hey there! Project Life is my 'fun' scrapping that I do purely for me. Here's a couple of closies...the rest are up over at PURPLE PUMPKIN, cos I've used lots of their lovely goodies on my pages:):)

I must say, I don't do 'pretty' PL...& I don't really worry about photos being all the same size, either! But that's just me:)
Have you been 'seduced' by PL yet???!!!!
I'm a goner...I just find it a GREAT way to keep track of the year, with no stress. I guess month by month makes it easy!
Happy scrapping my friends ~ Lizzy ♥♥♥

Another Freaking Scrappy, Cardabilities & Off the Rails.....

See, I wasn't going to do ANY more challenges this month...but then I saw Anne P's Another Freaking Scrappy Challenge was not only back, but they had the most SUPERLATIVE sketch. So naturally I had to play!!
Then I got my first lot of 3rd Eye goodies ever...including a Brick template [I've always wanted one of those!]....so I thought I'd use it:):)
OK, cards first. These are made with the same background.

The sketch:
Goodies include stuff from Charm's Creations [the spotty flower], Flying Unicorn [musk flower], Dusty Attic [leaves] & the doily years ago from Chantelle H!
Yup, for all you card makers, this is their 1st one EVER....using this colour palette & sketch:
And here's my card:
Yep, using my local feathers again...I really enjoy making them into bouquets!! And I really like the effect of die cut & dry embossed vellum, too. It allows the bricks to errr 'shine through'!!!
Finally, another sketch over at
Like I said, I really, REALLY ♥♥♥ this sketch. I have a heap of Stampin' Up papers - for some reason I find them difficult to use....but by hook or by crook....so here's the result:

And here's a list of those peeps/places I am so thankful to!!!
hope you have fun checking out some other blogs if you haven't seen them around before:)
Thanks for looking & Happy Scrapping ~ Lizzy ♥♥♥
PS: if anyone mentions BIRD SPLATS when they see that ink...well, my mind has already been there - LOL:):):)

One of the things I LOOOVE about The ORANGE PAPERIE challenges are they have fabulous guests..this month they feature the lovely LIZZY CRUST....& the lovely MARY BENNETTS has set the challenge ~ to use hearts & journaling on your page. Well, this had a LOT of stamped hearts...but then I played with the background...& played...& played....so they're not so obvious anymore. But they ARE there!!! See? Top right???!!!

Older Basic Grey papers & this is a sticker...I just LOOOOOVE it...so cute. A bit like Wally. And Tom. Can you call your husband 'cute'...LOL!!!!
Yup, poor Wally has just been clipped ~ & he always goes to Tom for a bit of comfort. I'm the 'mean Mummy' who 'makes' him get clipped, teehee:)
I sorta inked around my title to match up with the 'loved' sticker...lotsa sequins, glass beads, Liquid Pearls, some Trinket Track grunge & pearl stars.....
 Et voila!My whole page:
I really like that circle thing that's happening atm on pages....& the string was fun to do:):)
Keep an eye out for  The Orange Paperie challenges.....they're LOVELY girls over there.....oh, I've already said that, right???!!!!!!
Cheers, Lizzy ♥♥♥

Page Drafts Valentines Challenge...

...using the most gorgeous sketches possible by Emma Stafrace. It was hard to choose one to use!!!
Anyways, I went with this one:
I wanted to follow the sketch quite closely....& I think I've succeeded....& I wanted to scrap about my Best Buddy...that one who's been there through it all - you know, the marriage, the kids, the divorce, the deaths....the everyday & the extraordinary. But I don't like to be soppy. So those feelings are covert rather than overt...but I hope you can see that this LO is still, despite not being soppy, about the love 2 friends share:)
The background is from a Heidi Swapp mask...I had ink over it after doing another page, so slapped it down on this paper so I didn't waste all that lovely ink!!!
My bottom corner cluster....seam binding ribbon from Craft Queen...chippy from Dusty Attic [YUP! Still managing to pop some on most of my pages:)], punched circles & hearts...
I just adore the Cherry Flair from A Piece of Cake Designs...this one fitted rather perfectly, I thought!
And more hearts, circles, washi tape tucked in & you can see where I've sewn the ribbon on too:)
A few little arrow stamps to direct the eye! The pink hearts have been misted through the mask after I'd done the bg .... that worked pretty well!!!
I really enjoyed doing this page....for Old Chooks I reckon we don't look too bad....& it's fun to journey through life together with a BFF...right???!!!!
Blessings ~ Lizzy ♥♥♥
PS: There are plenty of other sketches to choose from at Page Drafts....well worth a visit;)

Scrapki~ Wyzwaniowo - NO!!!!!

Of course, I mean YES! But the theme is to say 'no' to something....here's my journaling:
Now I'm not getting all political here...in point of fact I had a bit of a giggle at the shenanigans over there...I'm afraid I'm a bit naughty in that I really can't take scrapping all that seriously....I take my DUTIES seriously, so if I'm on a DT, then I'll work hard & to the best of my ability....but that's about it!
Then I got thinking about all the encouragement I got when I started scrapping - & I know I've come a looong way from that starting point...& without those positive, upbeat comments I have no doubt I would NOT be where I am today. So SAY NO to negatives, I reckon!
The wooden elements here are called Squidgy Pins & I'm in loooove! I ran out of some alphas - the 'T' here, so I made an upside L into one!!! And I had no E's, either!!! The typewriter is from stamp packaging ...I cut it up:) Lots of colour [thanks Lindy G!] & then I've dribbled over some Pearl Ex powders made into paint.
Now, I must say I'm still learning to do this Art Journaling stuff & I'm never really happy with my pages...but, you know, you learn by doing...so I'll keep on doing 'til I get better. You, poor readers, just have to put up with the errr.....PURPLE I keep using. What IS that? Hate it....but I've even got PURPLE thongs [ie flip flops, NOT undies!!!] this summer.....
And once more, it all started to look too grungy, so out came the Gesso....lots of transfers, stamps...
Those little circle stamps are Ali Edwards.....
And there I will leave you. My aim is to win some 7Dots Studio papers. If it means I need to go into the Scrapki Wyzwaniowo challenges from now for the next 10 years...well, you lot might have a few more wrinkles, maybe a grey hair or two...but I'll still be playing...now wouldn't it be AWESOME to get on their team??? Better keep practising:):)!!!!
Happy Scrapping ~ Lizzy ♥♥♥

Berry71Bleu ~ February Mixed Media Challenge...

...who can resist Mixed Media these days? I sorta went WAAAAY OTT with this one....& Sandra will be cringing cos it is NOT useful. It WAS going to be..cos I  was going to keep it flat & still be able to clip stuff up...but - what can I say? The Mixed Media BEAT ME UP til I used lotsa stuff & it sorta overflowed all over the show......Here's the journey:
Covered in ripped book paper, gel medium, then gesso & fibre paste [thanks Yvonne Y!] through a mask, then heat embossed & stamped Eiffel towers followed by molding paste through another mask...
Followed by more stamping, gesso, then some mists....more gesso & the finishing touches.......think I fulfilled the criteria for this challenge???!!!! LOL!!!!!!!
Et voila!
The flowers are Dusty Attic & Kaisercraft [CSI/Flying Unicorn win]...the CHIPBOARD...yes, I'm overcoming THAT blockage well & truly is also Dusty Attic....heat emboss stamped, Distress painted then crackle accented it:
Plasterer's tape gives LOVELY texture....some of the Liquid Pearls I've popped on then rubbed off...thought they looked more 'shabby' that way:):)
I wanted this to be a nice bit of 'wall art' for my room.....& I think this is what Mixed Media is all about...hence the title!
My Dusty Attic 'journey' chippy has been on one, too....started raw, then got coated in Inka Gold [Platinum], then I drew on it in black pen & finally gessoed over the top!
Sorry about the long post, but I had such FUN with this & wanted to show you the 'journey' it took me on....thanks so much for looking & thanks BERRY71BLEU for putting on this challenge:):)
Somehow I managed to scrape through to the 2nd round of the SUPREME SCRAP TOURNAMENT!
This time around you had to create a MONOCHROMATIC card that was also 3D. Talk about a challenge & a 1/2. Anyways, after struggling mightily, this is what I made:
 Scrap Happy! Lizzy♥♥♥

LOL...it didn't take me long, did it? Off the DT & into the challenges!!
But this is Zeneva's FIRST sketch for Scrap Friends - so how could I NOT join in, especially since it's such a beauty!
You will notice a tad of the Dreaded Colour. I've obviously come a long way from my Fear of the Purple. Maybe it's something to do with being on the Purple Pumpkin team....& they sure do have a LOTTA purple stuff in their shop!!!!!
Anyways, I digress. Bad habit. Slap. Right, here's what I did:
And...I'm being good...following my very OWN challenge to use chippy....all from DUSTY ATTIC from my OFF THE RAILS win....golded [??? new verb???!!!] them up with heat embossing....as I did around the edges.....here's the sketch:
I kept fairly close to the sketch....Dylusions ink spray & Montmartre Dimensional white paint through the masks...that stuff is fabulous...so glad Nadia C 'shared' this hint!!
A Purple Pumpkin felt heart...with GOLD staples [thanks Mitra!!]...
...& below a felt flower alongside lotsa PP buttons...can you see the Dusty Attic arrows that I've gold glittered up?
Feathers from Wally's walks & from Helen T...the Dusty Attic heart is also golded up [I LIKE saying that!!]
And tucked under I've also got a gold doily, also from Mitra! I have LOVELY bloggy friends:):)
Wee Brooke is ALMOST finished her treatment for leukaemia...hopefully April...it's been a long road...
And lastly, I tried to get a photo so you could see the GLITTER...it really is YUMMY:):)
Thanks for looking! Hope this inspires you in some way to get scrappy & join in at Scrap Friends:):)
Cheers, Lizzy ♥♥♥
