ZEUS & ZOE CHALLENGE

Hi there! I hope you are enjoying your weekend, wherever you are, & you are looking forward with eager anticipation to a whole bunch of new challenges coming up at the start of the next month! Meanwhile, I have a particular fondness for mid-month challenges like ZEUS & ZOE. They balance out the rest of the month, & for some reason you have more time to spend on them.
As you probably all know by now, I won a veritable treasure trove of goodies from Z&Z in the recent BERRY71BLEU blog hop...so how could I NOT use some of them up in this VINTAGE IMAGE/MIXED MEDIA challenge:):) And, as my friend Mitra says, in the interests of keeping it real, of course I will go in this one as she provided the image & criteria! And it's a gorgeous image. I've used it as a 'jumping off' point & also as an image transfer on my OTP project. Here's the image:

I had a key rack that I got for nothing, in a box of junk outside an Op Shop when we were in QLD in April. Here's what it looked like:
And here is how it looks now:
Keys, buttons & pin from Z&Z...with the heart pin from SANDRA...ribbons from Vanuatu Scrap booking shop!!!! I've got lots of layers & also image transferred the ladies [Simplicity sewing pattern front] & the lady with the dog & Eiffel tower were glitter stickers that I've gessoed/inked at the bottom. The Eiffel has been texture pasted, then embossed. Lots of layers, stamps....you name it. It IS mixed media, after all!!! Oh, & the best bit? The shimmer paint over the top:):):) Very girly!!!
Some close ups & 'process' photos:

Hope that wasn't too boring! I've got the last couple of photos of the month:
DAY 29 - SOFT:
My throw for cold nights...& it has a chevron pattern! Not fashionable when I got it, that I recall!!!

DAY 30 - A FRIEND:
Chocolates in a cute bag...& whilst choc's ARE my friend, the significance is Mary popped around last night with these - most uneccessary, unexpected & a pleasant, yummy surprise...& that's what friends are all about:):) So thank you, Mary, for being my friend...& for the choccies:):):) Rather pleased with this piccy, too. Love the sun behind....
And just one more thing....DH got sick of me putting paper on the floor of my scrappy room to dry....I'm always shouting 'Watch where you're walking!'....so today he made me a little bench for drying stuff on etc...it's a bit 'rustic' - but that's what I like best.....
He also made me a Washi tape tree....next post! Think that you've done Very Well getting through this:):)

WHAT THE???????

Called in at the post office today & THIS arrived...oh, & this will do nicely for today's PHOTO OF THE DAY....what's on your shelf.....& no, that's NOT a mini sized sewing machine...
Yesterday was 'In your bathroom'. My friend Kymme laughed at having fruity ocean smelling hand wash. Probably the reason it was in the Reject Shop!!!

So....The Box. Rather large, eh? Apparently I'd won a prize from SCRAPBOOKING MEMORIES & TONY'S PAPERCRAFTS......amongst others...to say I was a little overwhelmed would be the understatement of the century. I seem to have been on  winning roll the last few weeks. Really should take out a Lotto ticket, I guess....

Just an amazing array of goodies & in their very own plastic tub! I'm gonna have fun with this lot, that's for sure:):):) [BIG grin here!!!] So, for all you gals who think about going in the SBM competitions, but don't get around to it....DO IT!!!!

Nothing scrappy to share, although I've almost finished my ZEUS & ZOE project. Head on over to check out what to do Having great fun with it, too. And just to finish off.....I got to babysit Lucas! First time. So, I did the bottle, burping, changing things & it all came back to me oh-so-quickly...& he was gorgeous & perfect, of course!
You know how boy babies always have long lashes? I got 'em on record!
I'll be back on the morrow:))
Til then, happy last day of the week ~ Lizzy

FROSTED DESIGNS CARD SKETCH #21

Hi there - I needed a card...can't believe how I always seem to be short of them! Anyway, got some Glubers from Scrap Friends that arrived today, so I made myself a flower...very pleased with it, too, & it worked perfectly for this sketch which is the current challenge over at FROSTED DESIGNS. I've had this ribbon ever since I first started scrapping in 2009, so it felt GOOOOOD to use it up finally:)
The sketch:

Thought this was a bit of a different spin on a bottle top, too - I've used Gluber stickers to wind the string around, too - MUCH easier than Modge Podge!!
I haven't done the photo for today...been busy BABY SITTING for the 1st time...yes, I've had Little Lucas over & it was such FUN....he's soooooo cute:):):)
Take care, don't forget our Inspiration Challenge over at SCRAP FRIENDS,

JUNE 1,2,3 CHALLENGE

I'm scrapping as fast as I can! The end of the month is nigh....eeeekkkkkk!!! Today I did the challenge over at Charm's blog for 1,2,3 - the word is CHANGE; the colour is BLUE & the technique is WASHI TAPE...now that's right up my alley since, as you know, I have a BOY grandson [big CHANGE there!] & you all know my LOVE for WASHI!!!!
Here's what I came up with...quite pleased with this one!
I'm really enjoying the fussy cutting of photos atm. Washi on the bottom, washi butterflies & circles & on the bottle top...for under the journaling [surprise, surprise - NOT!!!].

Really enjoyed misting around & on these chippies, then slightly moving them before sticking them down - love the effect it has given. Perfect pearl mists are mixed with Dylusions spray ink...
Out with the bottle top again - I liked it in the centre of this doily mask, which Mitra sent over to me - I've used it sooo much. It's GREAT:):)

Today I also got some HAPPY mail...the Giveaway I won from BERRY71BLEU.....& it was chock-a-block filled with the yummiest goodies I have EVER seen in my whole entire life. I was a tad overwhelmed by Marivic's generosity & so here's a HUGE thank you!!! If you've not seen her embellies, then head over to either the Berry or ZEUS & ZOE blogs to check them & her DT's out....& Z+Z has a fun challenge on 'til  the middle of next month....take a peek HERE & see if it inspires you. I've started it!!!!!

That's it for me,
Take care,
Lizzy H

White with One

I've been on a scrapping 'high' today....had the blues, in a GOOD way! Because over at WHITE WITH ONE this month's challenge was to scrap white, pale blue with flags.....& since I have a li'l Lucas grandboy...well....here he is!
My flags--- punched, gessoed, then I've used little bits'n'bobs to place on them.
Some masking & gessoing for the background

And I used my Big Shot for that leafy thingy - it's a Kesi' Art one - plus the big flower is from our flower swap!

Isn't he just TOOOO CUTE????!!!!

Photo of the Day is WHERE YOU SHOP
This is 'my' bakery. I don't like to buy my bread in the big chain supermarkets - or my fruit & veg, but try to 'buy local' so that we can keep those shops going!
Cheers,
Lizzy H

ANOTHER FREAKING SCRAPPY CHALLENGE

Hi there....I finally got myself sorted & settled down to scrap the wedding challenge over at ANOTHER FREAKING SCRAPPY CHALLENGE....now, I didn't really want to scrap my 1st wedding, being divorced & all, but I DID want to scrap this photo FROM said wedding...so I figure that's close enough! Once again, a small 8x8 page...so I had to be very careful how I scrapped it!!! I think you can see the family resemblance here  between me, my Mam [Mum's Mum] & my Mum...& my petticoat is supposed to be peeking out more - it was all the fashion at the time...but it didn't really work!!!!
Teensy weensy washi tape hearts that have been glossy accented. And yes, this was a LONG time ago!!!
The 'frame' is from a 'Lost & Found' paper, that I've fussy cut around...the birds are a Stampin' Up stamp also fussy cut & glossy accented. I've given the frame some depth by running around it with a crimson marker.
And I love this stamp sentiment...sort of works with the 'love' of family, even if 'life happens' with family difficulties!

Most of these papers came in a pack I got in a giveaway from Rachael Funnell a while back! Every little bit comes in handy sooner or later, as I'm sure y'all know:):)
Happy Scrapping....& join in over at AFSC...it's not too late. Take a peek, as they've a 'Male' challenge running as well & I really, really liked the sketch for that one....time issues......
Lizzy H
PS: Don't forget our COLOUR INSPIRATION challenge over at Scrap Friends....there's not many entries yet...which of course, increases your chances of winning a VERY nice prize:):):) And the inspiration piccy is pretty nice, too:):)
Oh & WOOPS..forgot photo of the day. SOMETHING CUTE
We had the dog - Bentley- from over the road 'visiting' Wally today:
Bentley wanted to play non-stop...I think Wally is pretending to ignore him [no eye contact] so he can have a rest!!!!!

SCRAP AFRICA colour combo challenge #6

I actually wanted to do SCRAP AFRICA'S sketch challenge, which as usual, is a GREAT sketch...but the colours in their 'flag' challenge really grabbed me...especially since I could use BLUE, GREEN & WHITE for the first of my Vanuatu holiday LO's. Yep, you need to use 3 only of the colours in this flag for this challenge:

And here's my page:

I wanted to use one of Gail's GREATEST VIEW glassine bags here, to hold my journalling & thought I'd 'feature' it...with so many photos, I've tried to keep this LO fairly 'clean'.
I've actually attached the photos to the bag, but popped Washi tape behind to give the appearance of having a 'backing'. To the bag I've added rub ons & stickers etc...that little metal tag has been altered by adding a piece of white card stock to which I added some rub ons, then glossy accented. Fiddly - but worth it! I like how the embellies on my journalling card can be seen through the glassine.
I must thank SANDRA again - this time for the ric rac! And the crochet flowers are a mix of PURPLE PUMPKIN, some from CHANTELLE & also from ANITA!
Here's a close up of the flowers:

See the punched out circle covered in Washi? One of my fave uses!!! Ran around the edges of the bag & the LO with a Stampin' Up ink marker, too. If you're into food & the minutiae of life, read the journaling...if not...don't!!!

I used AMERICAN CRAFTS DIY THICKERS & covered them myself! There'll be a post about this soon on SCRAP FRIENDS blog...I'll let you know when! They're a really interesting versatile product & FUN to use:)
And speaking of Scrap Friends, don't forget the latest Colour challenge.....different colours to this one, but fun just the same. A reminder:
Click HERE for info on this one....
And one other thing, our Flower Swap for this month was blue with cream. Here's the photo Sharon put up on her blog. If you're in Oz & would like to be part of it, then click HERE for the info:):)

That's it from me!
Cheers, Lizzy H

BERRY71BLEU challenge

Good evening - another cold one here...but it IS winter!!! BERRY71BLEU is having a challenge using CHIPBOARD. Well, that's something that I don't have much of, & what I do have I find difficult to use. No idea why, but there you have it. So this really WAS a challenge! I made a card & tried to channel lots of vintage! Found this image on an old Graphic 45 paper & used lots of embossing, liquid pearls etc.... here 'tis my card:
Here's a couple of close ups. I've used an old Imaginesence [or however you spell it!] packaging behind the lamp post, & added some extra stamping to it:)
I gave my girl a pearl necklace:):):)
You can see the bg stamping I've done here...
The embossed lamp post, which I then rubbed over with liquid pearls in gold... I really liked the effect! And can you see the black card behind is EMBOSSED! Yep! Used my Big Shot!!!!

And my photo of the day was ON YOUR MIND...well, nothing deep & meaningful. It's the weather [of course!!!] & I looked at this little flower & it soooo reminded me of warmth & summer & I can hardly wait:):):)
Take care...have a lovely week:):)

ONCE UPON A...SKETCH

Hi there! The end of the month is looming...and I'm scrapping in order to TRY and finish a couple more challenges. I always have such high hopes of going into many more than I actually end up having time to finish. Guess that's pretty common!
ONCE UPON A...SKETCH has this LO to follow & the 'theme' is birthdays. I had to be dragged to 50 with a bit of kicking and screaming....but there are always positives to be found!

I used lots of my flowers, plus some from IRINI, SANDRA & MARY....probably from others of you, too! Also, the cardboard & tissue paper behind the LO as well as the string are all from ANITA....honestly, I don't think I'd be able to do half the scrapping I do without such generous fellow scrappers:):)
Here we go:
My fave bit of this? The 'fence' I made out of tissue paper & machine stitching, with those micro beads. Now THAT was fun!!! The '/counting blessings' tab is tucked underneath with hidden journaling on both sides. Here's some:
More washi tape - I just really enjoy writing on it! This is a Teresa Collins flower. Isn't it sweet?
The little badge is from Evalicious [gorgeous products] & I KNEW there were flowers from someone else...the magical MITRA, no less!!!

And, back to the PHOTO OF THE DAY:
Day 22: FROM A HIGH ANGLE
Looking down on to our flowering Pohutakawa [or derivative] out front. The birds LOVE it, especially at this time of year....& since Day 23 is MOVEMENT, I caught this bird eating today:)
Lots of red here....glorious colour! Love how the sun is shining through the trees...but don't be fooled, it's still not that warm here!!
Take care,
Lizzy H
