DH has grown me some rhubarb - I LOVE it, along with quinces! Old fashioned, I know, but stewed up...YUM! I've used some mists & paints on the bg & had fun cutting strips of October Afternoon Farmhouse paper up for behind the photo, along with some washi tape..the leaves are stamped & fussy cut & the 'THIS' in the title has been painted with Ranger Clear Rock Candy, then covered with Glossy Accents to make it really pop!

| See the butterflies? They're Washi tape, backed onto cardboard then fussy cut! Very fiddly but I like the result:):) |
Over at SCRAP FOR HELP the challenge is to use an old ENVELOPE in your 'free' layout or card or altered project. That's really flexible; makes it easy to join in! I had some very old envelopes that look like they're Chinese, maybe? They even had those yellow age spots...I sort of tried to channel Marivic with her tags over at Zeus & Zoe... my idea was to make a tag-like creation with the envelope that would then make the front of a card. The big green flower is one I've made, & I cut up a bit of costume jewellery that was broken for the lovely stones...the lamp post came from Mitra....& you can see how I've altered it! I actually used my new Magic Stamp from Scrap Friends - made up the image with LACE!!! I did LOTS with this one...gave the Distress inks another work out! This card took a while to make, but I really enjoyed the creative process:):):)

| The HB frame is a stamp that I've fussy cut the outside, then punched out the inside, then backed off with another piece of cardstock with the sentiment stamped on it! |

That's it for me tonight! Don't forget our sketch challenge over at Scrap Friends...I'd love to see some more familiar names linked up:):):)
Take care,

I love both of these Lizzy! The stitching on the card is a stroke of genius.
ReplyDeleteI'm embarrassed to say that I have never had stewed rhubarb - mum and Dad love it but I was a fussy child and since being a non fussy adult haven't gotten around to preparing it (and we had some in the garden too...ooops).
And the fussy cutting - wow. Gorgeous as always.
xx
